I love to visit the National Wildlife Refuges whenever I get a chance. They usually offer a chance to get away from the stresses of everyday life. The second post that I deleted was from a winter visit to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. I also love to visit lighthouses. We were lucky and able to observe a good variety of wildlife along some of the trails on this visit.

History, culture, and religion should be respected and preserved. The first of my deleted posts was about a trip I made to Arizona. One of the places I visited was the San Xavier del Bac Mission. It is located outside of Tucson in the San Xavier district of the Tohono O’odham Nation and is known locally as “The White Dove of the Desert.” The mission (still in use) is over 200 years old and is registered as a National Historic Landmark.

I have deleted several posts that no longer functioned because they used "flash" for the slideshow. I am going to try to restart making posts in this blog to inspire me towards a more positive outlook after the lst few tumultuous years. If I can find the images for the slideshows, I will repost them.

Snow

One of my goals this year is to post something each month. We almost got to have a "White Christmas" in Virginia Beach.  I was on duty that weekend - so I took advantage of having to be out anyway and these are some of the pictures...
